With the Division Two title already in the bag Durrington FC breezed to a 5-0 win away at local rivals South Newton & Barford Hornets while Avon Valley’s 5-0 win away at Pilot FC saw them edge closer to nailing down the runners up spot.
With both, Frome Collegians AFC and Semington Magpies FC dropping points in the race to top the table and Seend United claiming a massive 6-0 win over their bogey side Warminster Town Reserves, Andy Dyer’s defending champions are looking in a good position to lift the trophy for a second successive season.
Jack Jenkins, Durrington FC side picked up the victory they needed to be crowned Second Division champions at their very first attempt. FC Devizes United claimed a stunning 4-0 win away at Melksham Town Develoment, Heytesbury & Codford defeated The Stiffs and their were also wins for Holt and Frome Collegians.
The match of the day in Division two was undoubtedly the clash between locals rivals Avon Valley FC and Durrington FC. Elsewhere it was only for the efforts of club secretaries who managed to somehow reverse fixtures to ensure games were played.
A surprise defeat for Semington Magpies away at Dilton Marsh Wanderers, coupled with a victory for Seend United away at Holt means that Seend return to the top of the table as they look to defend their league title.
Durrington FC moved a step closer to claiming the Second division title, thanks to a 2-0 victory away at Calne Athletic. Avon Valley netted 14 at home to Pilot FC and elsewhere their were victories for Bromham & Trowbridge Town Tigers.
