DIVISION TWO ROUND UP – WEEK 34

Bromham FC 2 Durrington FC 5

A very depleted Bromham FC side played hosts to Gooding Accounts sponsored Trowbridge & District League, Second Division CHAMPIONS, Durrington FC.

Jack Jenkins side may have wrapped up the title a few weeks ago, but for the hosts they had everything to play for, as a victory would have seen them finish in third place.

On a rock hard surface, both teams struggled to come to terms with the conditions, but it was the hosts who drew first blood when Caleb Englefield gave them a 1-0 lead.

Tyler Andrews got Durrington back on level terms, however a Tyler Beattie effort for Bromham saw them lead 2-1 at the break.

Five minutes after the restart the Champions were all square, a stunning free kick from Tyler Pavey made it 2 each, 10 minutes later Durrington were 3-2 up though Danny Finnigan’s spectacular long range strike, that gave the hosts keeper no chance.

Lewis Stafford made it 4-2 and fittingly Durrington’s final goal of the league campaign was scored by Tyler Pavey which took his tally of league goals to 27.

Trowbridge Wanderers FC 1 Freshford United Reserves FC 5

Alfie Little was the star of the show for Freshford, his goal separated the teams at the break and he scored a further two after the break to complete a hat trick to take his tally to 22 across both the Freshford First’s and Reserves.

Sol Vowell and Kamil Maka for who it was his first goal for the club made up Freshford 5, Leon Crease replied for Wanderers.

Staverton Rangers FC v Pilot FC A/W

Staverton Rangers FC withdrawal from the league meant that Pilot FC never got the chance to arrange a 6-0 defeat at the hands the hands of their local rivals from earlier in the season, on the plus side Pilot picked up the 3 points from the awarded match meaning they finish their first season in the league with 7 points.
