Just two weeks after defeating Holt FC 4-0 to reach the final on the A&B Cup, Andy Dyer’s treble chasing Seend United FC played hosts to Frome Collegians AFC bidding for a place in the Chantry Digital sponsored Knockout Cup Final.

Seend who suffered a 1-0 defeat when the teams met back in September, and will host Collegians in the league next Saturday kept their hopes of a hat trick of silverware alive, courtesy a 4-0 win that will set them up nicely for next weeks encounter.

Matt Purdy put Seend in front and top scorer Gary Higdon made it 2-0 prior to half time.

Second half goals for Kieran Higdon and Arthur Dolan sealed victory for the villagers who were beaten in last terms final by Warminster Town Reserves and will face another tough test as standing in their way will be an ever improving FC Devizes United side who they also face in the A&B Cup Final.


Melksham Town Development FC 1 FC Devizes United 3

Just two weeks after ending Melksham Town Development FC’s hopes of reaching the A&B Cup Final with a 1-0 win, FC Devizes United returned to Oakfield for their Chantry Digital sponsored Knockout Cup semi-final showdown with Mike Coll’s side and like the previous encounter the hosts suffered another defeat, this time losing 3-1.

Unlike the last meeting when Charlie Strickland’s 75th minute strike settled the game, Devizes opened the scoring on 29 minutes with Kian Fulford’s goal giving them a 1-0 lead.

A goal from Jack Brain at the start of the second period gave Devizes a 2-0 lead and it was game over when Oscar Webster made it 3-0 on 58 minutes.

Josh Flynn’s pulled a goal back for Melksham in the 67th minute, but his effort was little more than a consolation for a Melksham side who return to action on Tuesday evening with a fixture at home to basement side The Stiffs FC.
