Trowbridge Town Tigers FC 0 Calne Athletic FC 5

With the top two places in the Gooding Accounts sponsored Trowbridge & District League, Second Division all wrapped up, the race is on for third place that is likely to guarantee a place at the top table next season.

A 5-0 victory for Calne Athletic FC away at Trowbridge Town Tigers means that John McConnachie’s side currently occupy that place, but with the game against Tigers being their final one of the season, they could still be overtaken.

Recent signing Eddie Summers scored the first 2 goals for Calne, Joe Pollard made it 3-0, Ewan McConnachie made it 4-0 with his 29th league goal of the season and the scoring was completed when Summers scored a third to claim the match ball. All five goals came in what appears to be a one-sided first half.


Pilot FC 1 Bromham FC 7

4-0 up at the break though goals from Frank Mubuta, Archie Harris, Tyler Beattie and a second Mubuta effort the points were already in the bag against a Pilot side who they defeated 10-1 earlier in the season.

An own goal made it 5-0, Caleb Englefield added a sixth before Josh Jacques grabbed his teams consolation. Toby Wallis first ever goal in adult football put the icing on the cake for the winners.


Trowbridge Wanderers FC 0 Avon Valley FC 5

Avon Valley FC were as good as runners up ahead of their trip to Trowbridge Wanderers FC, this was confirmed by a 5-0 win which caps a great first season for the league newcomers.

After a later than expected kick-off Matt Wood put Avon Valley ahead on 32 minutes and this was just a few minutes after Wanderers had lost Ryan Stewart to a second yellow card.

Jacob King, Luke Conley with a brace and an Archer Stewart penalty after the break wrapped up win number 14 of the season.


Staverton Rangers FC v Durrington FC A/W

Durrington FC, already Divisional CHAMPIONS would have been disappointed that their trip to Melksham, to face Staverton Rangers FC due to their opponents being unable to raise a team. Under league rules the points for the match have been awarded to Jack Jenkins Durrington side who will be presented with the winners trophy and mementoes when they take on Bromham FC in their final league match at the end of the month.
