DIVISION ONE ROUND UP – WEEK 31

Heytesbury & Codford FC 1 Semington Magpies FC 1

Semington Mgpies FC saw their stay at the top of the table come to an end after they dropped points for a third match on the spin.

Neil Taylor’s Magpies are now in second place in the Gooding Accounts sponsored Trowbridge League, First Division table after suffering a 1-1 draw away at Heytesbury & Codford FC.

Magpies led at the break through Andrew Knightley’s 20 yard free kick into the bottom corner, but it wasn’t enough to earn them victory as and not for the first time in recent weeks Chris Steele found the net to earn Heytesbury & Codford a share of the spoils. His goal being his 19th of the season.

Frome Collegians AFC 8 Dilton Marsh Wanderers FC 1

While former table toppers Semington Magpies FC appear to be falling apart at the seams Frome Collegians AFC have things sewn up and an 8-1 victory over what had been a resurgent Dilton Marsh Wanderers outfit has seen them replace Magpies at the summit.

Goals from Lewis Perrett and Dean Caslake put Collegians 2-0 up at the break.

George Woodland and Josh Keay made it 4-0 before Dean Perryman pulled a goal back for the Stiffs.

Josh Keay added his second to make it 5-1, Lewis Perret scored 2 more to complete his hat trick and George Hollard netted the final goal of the afternoon to make it 8-1.

The Stiffs FC 1 Hilperton Greyhound FC 4

A 4-1 victory for Hilperton Greyhound FC away at The Stiffs has seen them move out of the relegation places.

Tom Wilkes gave Stiffs the lead and keeper George Hartrey did well to preserve it when he saved a Cori Brewer spot kick, however he was unable to prevent Aaron Burbidge from restoring parity when he netted from the spot to make it 1-1.

Louis Cunningham put Greyhound 2-1 up and Louis Coles made it 3-1, before the unfortunate Aaron Stephenson put through his own net to give Greyhound their fourth of the afternoon and with it the victory that saw they move out of the drop zone.

Warminster Town Reserves FC 1 Freshford United FC 1

Warminster Town Reserves FC and Freshford United FC who won the previous encounter between the teams 1-0 way back in August had to settle for a share of the points as the teams fought out a 1-1 draw.

Tom Ball’s opener for Warminster was cancelled out by Alfie Little, but it was his manager and goal keeper Chris Birleson who after conceding a penalty went from zero to hero as he saved the resulting spot kick prior to half time to ensure both sides left Weymouth Street wit ha point apiece.
