DIVISION TWO ROUND UP – WEEK 24

Avon Valley FC 1 Bromham FC 1

With Gooding Accounts sponsored Trowbridge & District League, Division Two leaders Durrington FC in A&B Cup action, second placed Avon Valley FC had the chance to narrow the gap to their fierce rivals to just 2 points, but they missed out on the chance as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Bromham FC whose own chances of catching the Valley seem to be over.

Avon Valley led 1-0 at the interval, Jamie Hinton scoring the goal that separated the teams.

Bromham hunted an equaliser which eventually arrived when the unfortunate Ryan McShane planted the ball beyond his own keeper to deny Valley the much needed 3 points they so wanted.

South Newton & Barford Hornets FC 2 Pilot FC 1

Two second half penalties earned South Newton & Barford Hornets FC a 2-1 triumph over Pilot FC whose defeat saw the two teams swap places at the foot of the table.

Max Davies and Brandon Nettling combined for the latter to give Pilot a half time lead.

The second period saw the Hornets battle back for victory, Owen Keel restored parity when he netted from the penalty spot and he kept his cool as he fired home from 12 yards for a second time to clinch the Hornets a 2-1 win.
