WARMINSTER WIN AS FROZEN PITCHES CAUSE MORE DISRUPTION
The first two weeks of 2025 has seen one of the worse possible starts for teams from Gooding Accounts sponsored Trowbridge League, First Division. After losing all scheduled matches last weekend due to frozen pitches, things was nearly as bad this weekend.
However and against the odds one match survived the elements and that was at the Land Warfare Centre, Warminster where Dilton Marsh Wanderers FC suffered a 4-1 defeat to near neighbours Warminster Town Reserves FC.
Warminster had the game won in the first half as goals from Ed Leeson, James Bodman and Drew Adams gave them a 3-0 lead.
The second period saw Aaron Knowles pull a goal back for Wanderers, but it was little more than a consolation as Sean Snook added a fourth for Warminster to give them maximum points.
SOMERSET JUNIOR CUP
Away from league action, Frome Collegians AFC saw their dreams of Somerset Junior Cup success come to and end as they were beaten 2-0 away at Yeovil Premier DivisiĆ³n outfit Martock United.
Frome held their hosts to a goalless first half before being undone by two second half efforts.
