Frome Collegians AFC 1 Warminster Town Reserves FC 1
POINTS SHARDED AT THE SHOWGROUND
With Frome Collegians AFC and Warminster Town Reserves FC starting day in fourth and fifth place in the Gooding Accounts sponsored Trowbridge League, First Division standings it was little surprise that with little to separate the sides they fought out a 1-1 statemate.
Cooper Brooks first ever goal for Warminster gave his team a half time lead.
On an afternoon of firsts, Frome Collegians grabbed a share of the spoils thanks to a first goal of the season from Evan Barnes.
Hilperton Greyhound FC 2 Freshford United FC 1
WOODFORD NETS GREYHOUND WINNER
A 2-1 victory for Darren Brewer’s Hilperton Greyhound over Freshford United saw them move 5 points clear of the two automatic relegation spots.
Matty Hall rolled back the years as his goal dragged Greyhound level after Dan Birleson had put Freshford ahead.
With the scored level at the break, both teams went in search of a winner in the second period and it was Greyhound who came up trumps with Louis Woolford netting the goal that won the hosts all 3 points.
Melksham Town Development FC 4 Dilton Marsh Wanderers FC 2
MELKSHAM ENJOY HOME COMFORTS
A first home match for Melksham Town Development FC saw them claim a fourth win of the campaign, which came courtesy of a 4-2 triumph over Dilton Marsh Wanderers FC.
Cameron Pearce saw his 15th minute opener for Melksham cancelled out by Charlie Penelhum who made it 1-apiece in the 30th minute.
Melksham regained the lead on 51 minutes, Kurt Baston making it 2-1. Louis Adams’ 67th minute effort made it 3-1 and when Morgan Akerman added the hosts fourth in the 82nd minute, Dilton’s fate was sealed.
Nathan Pepler scored a late consolation for Dilton, but it was a case of too little, too late, for Steve Wyatt’s side who will be looking forward to their festive break.
Semington Magpies FC 1 FC Devizes United 2
MAPGIES SLUMP TO ANOTHER DEFEAT
Semington Magpies who put together a 13 match unbeaten run before they suffered a first defeat of the season when they lost to defending champions Seend United, was followed by a A&B Cup defeat against Warminster Town Reserves, would have been hoping for a return to winning ways when they hosted a FC Devizes United side who they had already beaten twice this season.
Devizes had other ideas and they made it third time lucky as a 2-1 victory at Little Marsh saw them end their Magpies hoodoo and put another dent in the hosts hopes of beating Seend United who were without a match to the Division one title.
Devizes fell behind to a Kian Marklew goal but restored parity via Oscar Webster and then grabbed what proved to be the winner prior to half time, Webster scoring his second of the afternoon to make it 2-1, meaning that Magpies missed out on the chance to claim a share of pole position.
