MAGPIES FLY INTO FOURTH ROUND
Trowbridge & District League, Division One leaders, Semington Magpies FC had a break from league action when they hosted Salisbury based and fellow league outfit Avon Valley FC in the Wiltshire Junior Cup.
With the pair set to face each other again next Saturday in the league’s own knockout cup competition it was Magpies who laid down an early marker courtesy of a 3-0 triumph.
Magpies who were brilliant in the previous round when they came from 3-0 down to beat Alderbury 4-3, never encountered the same problems at Little Marsh as Harvey Frisby’s goal on 21 minutes set Neil Taylor’s side on their way.
Gavin Francis netted in the 32nd minute to give the hosts a 2-0 interval lead and he wrapped up the Magpies place in the fourth round when he added his second and Magpies third of the afternoon on 55 minutes.

WANDERERS FLOORED BY WILTON
Dilton Marsh Wanderers FC who received a walkover in the previous round saw their cup ambition ended with a 3-0 defeat at the Land Warfare Centre, Warminster.
Dorset League, Division One leaders progressing to the next round thanks to a 5-0 win.

DURRINGTON EXIT CUP FOR A SECOND TIME
Second division leaders, Durrington FC saw their Junior Cup adventure end for a second time. After suffering a 6-1 loss at Warminster Town Reserves in the previous round Durrington were given a second bite of the cherry, due to Warminster playing an ineligible in that game.
Durrington were unable to make the most of their second chance as they were beaten 4-0 at home by Wiltshire League, First Division side Bratton.
Heytesbury & Codford FC 5 AFC Harrow 2
COUNTY CUP SUCCESS FOR HEYTESBURY & CODFORD
Despite falling behind to Swindon Community League, First division side, AFC Harrow, Sam Spratt’s Heytesbury & Codford FC fought back to claim a 5-2 win.
Chris Steele dragged the hosts level before Dan Dicks put them 2-1 up and a second for Steele saw them take a 3-1 half time lead.
The second half began with Chris Steele scoring to claim a hat trick, his second in back-to-back games.
AFC Harrow clawed a goal back, but it was just a consolation as Jordan Leverett fired home number 5 for the home team for whom in the end it was a comfortable win.
Holt FC 6 The Stiffs FC 1
HOLT WIN ALL TROWBRIDGE LEAGUE TIE
Holt FC were paired with fellow Trowbridge League outfit The Stiffs FC for their Wiltshire Junior Cup third round tie and just a week after they defeated their opponents 3-0, Holt emerged victorious as they progressed to the final 16, take to a 6-1 win.
Joe Bakali-Laughton scored Holt’s opener on 24 minutes, however The Stiffs via Steve Lewin restored parity just a couple of minutes later.
Holt retook the lead in the 31st minute, Bakali-Laughton claiming the goal, but his cutback deflected in off the unfortunate Albert Flores, however there was no disputing Holt’s third goal which saw Bakali-Laughton score just prior to the break to put the hosts 3-1 up.
Samuel Legh-Cole made it 4-1 on 65 minutes and late for Jacob Nsirim (88 mins) and Maxwell Griffith a minute later made up Holt’s half dozen.

OLD TOWN WIN BATTLE OF THE ATHLETIC’S
Calne Athletic FC saw their Wiltshire Junior Cup run come to an end away at Swindon Community League, Premier Division outfit, Old Town Athletic who trailed 2-1 before tuning the game around to claim a 4-3 win.
After taking the lead, Old Town found themselves 2-1 as an Archie Green effort and an own goal gave Calne their 2-1 lead, however the hosts fought back to lead 3-2 at the break.
Old Town added a fourth after the break, but they face an anxious end to the game as, Ewan McConnachie pulled a goal back for Calne, however it proved to be too little, too late as the hosts held out to book their spot in the next round.
Tisbury United FC 3 Trowbridge Town Tigers FC 1
TIGERS EXIT JUNIOR CUP
Dorset Senior League outfit Tisbury United FC who defeated Seend United FC 4-1 in the previous round saw off another Trowbridge League side in Trowbridge Town Tigers FC who gave a fine account of themselves before suffering a 3-1 loss.
