SPOT ON DAN NETS FRESHFORD WINNER

Freshford United FC who tasted success in the Somerset Junior Cup back in 2011 when they beat Middlezoy Rovers 1-0 courtesy of a Mark Birleson goal, were drawn at home to Perry Street & District League side Misterton FC.

Chris Birleson’s side came out on top of what was an evenly matched contest, Dan Sandford first half penalty earning them a 1-0 win.

COLLEGIANS RECEIVE WALKOVER TO 2ND ROUND

Trowbridge League, First division leaders Frome Collegians AFC had the easiest of passages to the second round of this season’s Somerset Junior Cup.

Karl Freeman and James Goddard-Wellon’s side were due to host Glastonbury Reserves but they were awarded the tie when their opponents withdrew from the competition.
