Melksham Town Development FC 5 Holt FC 1

The tie of the round was at Oakfield, where Melksham Town Development FC hosted first division stablemates Holt FC. The match was predicted to be a thriller, between what appeared to be two evenly matched sides, but on the day it was Mike Coll’s Development side who ran out comfortable 5-1 victors.

Melksham got off to a flyer and were 2-0 up the opening 10 minutes, Ollie Farrell fired the hosts in front on 4 minutes and he was on target again in the 7th minute when he double the advantage.

Holt halved the deficit on 15 minutes, Jacob Nsirim setting up Jamie Morris whose goal made things more interesting however on the stroke of half time a Sam Alford free kick restored Melksham’s two goal cushion.

After a goalless first half Durrington took the lead courtesy of a Olly Mason penalty.

Charlie Penelhum got Dilton back on level terms and when Paul Beavers put them 2-1 ahead on 87 minutes, they must have thought they had the match won.

Durrington had different ideas and restored parity through Ryan Moore in the second minute of added time and it was Moore who conjured up a winner in extra time to give Durrington their 3-2 success.

The Stiffs FC 2 Staverton Rangers FC 6

The Stiffs FC who have lost their opening three fixtures in the Division one hosted Second division Staverton Rangers FC and never having lost to them in their previous four encounters, they were looking for some respite from what as been a gruelling start for George Hartrey’s side taking their place at the top table.

It was fifth time lucky for Staverton who were at their clinical best as they coasted to a comfortable 6-2 win and a place in the second round.

4-1 ahead at the break, Staverton’s Jake Abbott was their tormentor in chief as he scored quick-fire hat trick before Jake Davies scored from the penalty spot to give the Stiffs a lifeline which they were unable to build on as a Max Welsh strike restored Staverton’s 3-goal cushion.

Jake Abbott made it 5-1 with his fourth of the contest and although Albert Flores scored a second for the Stiffs it was just another consolation as a second for Max Welsh completed the winners half dozen and this was after they had missed a penalty.
