OWEN NETS TWICE IN WARMINSTER WIN
Warminster Town Reserves FC who already have the Chantry Digital sponsored Knockout Cup in their trophy cabinet will be looking to complete a Cup double on Wednesday evening, a 3-1 Spring Cup semi-final triumph away at Melksham Town Development means that Phil Stockley and Jon Loss side have the chance for another piece of silverware.
Mike Coll’s Melksham Development side saw off the Division One champions and beaten A&B and Knockout Cup beaten finalists Seend United last weekend to set up a meeting with Warminster, but they were unable to do a job on their guests at the Beeches, Shaw who were too strong on the day.
Jake Owen opened the scoring for Warminster in the 4th minute, and the club’s top scorer netted again on 28 minutes to give them a 2-0 interval lead.
With Melksham looking for a way back into the semi final they were dealt a cruel blow when Callum Howard put though his own net to make it 3-0 on 55 minutes, with the ball on the line, he decided to hoof the ball into the top corner, but unfortunately it was at the wrong end of the pitch.
Melksham did get on the score sheet at the right end, but Louis Adams 68th minute goal was just a consolation rather than the start of a rivals that the hosts were hoping for.

COLLEGIANS END DEVIZES CUP DREAMS
FC Devizes United who had come to life in recent weeks were unable to keep their end of season revival going. A trip to PAH Accounting sponsored A&B Cup winners Frome Collegians Reserves saw Jack Wood’s side crash out of the competition as they suffered a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Collegians who like their Spring cup final opponents Warminster Town Reserves will be hunting a second piece of silverware this season.
Collegians led 2-0 at the breaks courtesy of goals from Tom Brown and Mike Pearson.
Nathan Burrows added a third in the second half before Oscar Webster pulled a goal back for Devizes.
Kian Fulford narrowed the gap even further of Devizes but they were unable to get any closer to Collegians who stretched their lead to 4-2 thanks to a second of the afternoon from Mike Pearson.
Devizes helped in their own downfall as two red cards saw them finish the game with 9 players.
