MASSIVE WIN FOR GREYHOUND IN TITLE RACE
A 2-1 home win for Hilperton Greyhound FC over Semington Magpies has put Darren Brewer’s side in with a very good chance of beating Freshford United to the Gooding Accounts Ltd sponsored-Trowbridge & District Football League, Second Division title.
With Freshford returning to the top of the table prior to kick-off, a win was important for both teams if they stood any chance of beating Chris Birleson’s side and it was the hosts who conjure up the all important win over their fellow title hopefuls, but for Hilperton to deny Freshford, they need to win all their remaining 5 fixtures, which will be a big ask.
An Ellis Farion goal gave Greyhound a half time lead.
Arthur Dolan who netted a 6-timer last time out score to make it 2-0 to the home team.
Former Greyhound players Harvey Frisby and Gavin Francis combined in the 70th minute to reduce the arrears, Francis netted to set up a thrilling last 20 minutes which saw Greyhound hold on for the all important 3 points.
Geyhound are due to face inform Dilton Marsh Wanderers next weekend in what is a must win game, anything other than 3 points and a victory for Freshford over Trowbridge Town Tigers will see Birleson’s side crowned champions.

FRESHFORD RETURN TO SUMMIT AFTER WALKOVER
Freshford United who had lost their way in recent weeks, picked up 3 points from a walkover against Calne Eagles. Those 3 points have taken Chris Birleson’s back to the top of the table.
It may not be seen as an ideal way, for them to move closer to the title, but Freshford won’t mind how they won the points as it ended a run of results that had seen them win just one of their last 5 matches.
