Warminster Town Reserves FC 1 Seend United FC 3
SEEND KEEP QUADRULE HOPES ALIVE
Having already booked their place in this season’s Chantry Digital sponsored Knockout Cup Final where they will face Warminster Town Reserves, the two teams met in the semi-final of the PAH Accounting sponsored A&B Cup and although Andy Dyer’s Division One title winners Seend had already played Warminster twice this season they had failed to win any of those games.
For Seend it was third time lucky as a 3-1 victory saw them set up a final meeting with Frome Collegians Reserves later in April.
Both teams should be commended for aggreging to play the match with no official Assistant Referee’s as they could easily of chose not to play the game, for young referee Drew Hyndman his first ever match in the league will be one that he will probably want to forget and he will feel let down by the league, who failed to provide him with Assistant’s on the day.
Matt Purdy put Seend ahead, but he saw his opener cancelled out by James Bodman, whose goal levelled things before half time to set up an exciting second 45 minutes.
Mark Reynolds regained the lead for Seend and he wrapped up victory for Andy Dyer’s side when he bagged his 17th goal of the campaign, 12 of which have came in cup competitions.

COLLEGIANS REACH A&B CUP FINAL
A week ago Frome Collegians Reserves picked up a 1-0 victory against Melksham Town Development in the group stages of the Spring Cup. On Saturday the stakes were a lot higher when the pair met, the prize on offer to the winner of the clash at Oakfield being a place in this season’s PAH Accounting sponsored A&B Cup Final.
Like last weekend it was Karl Freeman’s, Collegians side who prevailed with a 2-1 triumph over Mike Coll’s side.
Collegians led 1-0 at the break courtesy of a Tom Brown goal.
Dean Caslake doubled Collegians advantage early in the second half and although Olly Clarke halved the deficit for Melksham on 60 minutes, his goal was just a consolation as Collegians saw out the remainder of the game to set up a meeting with Seend in April, Date and venue to be confirmed.
