BALL NETS WINNER AS BRADFORD HAVE EQUALISER RULED OUT
Ahead of their A&B Cup semi-final meeting with Seend United this coming Saturday, Warminster Town Reserves in front of a large vocal crowd were treated to a fiercely contested Chantry Digital Knockout Cup semi final tie against Bradford Town Reserves under the lights at Weymouth Street on Tuesday night.
Credit must go to both sides for looking to play attacking football on a heavy pitch.
There was little to separate the teams until the 44th minute when a beautifully weighted through ball by Joe Stockley was latched on by Tom Ball who brilliantly finished his one on one with the keeper.
The second half saw end to end football with Bradford being denied a contentious off side goal that saw Ashton finish well from a Shay Grant, only to have his effort ruled out for offside.
Warminster dug in for the win. With a couple of fine saves from Tom Jones which isn’t unusual.
Warminster look forward to a final with Seend United sometime in April.
