Freshford United FC 0 Aces FC 1
FRESHFORD FALL TO SMART STRIKE
With their own pitch at Brown’s Park being unplayable Freshford United swithed their Gooding Accounts Ltd sponsored-Trowbridge & District Football League, Second Division match to the University Of Bath, home of opponents Aces FC, who after suffering a 6-3 loss when the teams last met, would probably have been expecting the worse against the champions elect.
Aces who in recent weeks have been humbled by The Stiffs, Hilperton Greyhound and Holt must have raised their game as Freshford slummed to an unexpected and unpredicted 1-0 loss.
The game was one of 3 that failed to produce a first half goal, but when the winner came it was Aces, Kegan Smart who grabbed it.
The defeat is unlikely to derail Freshford’s push for the title as they have a 13 point advantage over the chasing pack and are just 3 points behind Holt who have played 4 more matches and have completed their league programme.

POINTS SHARED AT BOWERHILL
Staverton Rangers FC were able to use their Bowerhill base for the third time in 2024, The Stiffs who they had beaten them 4-0 at the end of September being the visitors on this occasion and although the conditions were a bit tricky underfoot the match ended with the points being shared following a 1-1 draw.
Neither team were able to force a breakthrough in the opening 45 minutes.
A Charlie Savage own goal saw The Stiffs take the lead, but it wasn’t enough the visitors to complete a double over Keith Dyckes side who fought back to earn a share of the spoils thanks to a Sam Toyin-Adeybanjo effort.
