HOLT MAINTAIN PROMOTION CHALLENGE
A 4-0 victory of Holt FC away at Aces FC means that the villagers maintained their excellent record since the start of the year. Nigel Tripp’s sides triumph came on the back of recent wins over Freshford United FC and Hilperton Greyhound and keeps them in with a chance of automatic promotion from the Gooding Accounts Ltd sponsored-Trowbridge & District Football League, Second Division.
Holt were given the perfect start when Harrison Fitzsimons turned home a Kieran Plummer to put them 1-0 up in the first minute.
There may have been no further goals in the first half, but just 5 minutes into the second period, Frank Dunn set up Sam Kirby who came off the bench prior to the interval to make it 2-0.
Sam Kirby was on hand to make it 3-0 on 71 minutes, with his second of the afternoon, again coming from a Frank Dunn assist. Dunn may not have got his name of the scoresheet but his after setting up Joseph Bakali-Laugton to score Holt’s final goal in the 80th minute it gave him a hat trick of assists.

DAVIES NETS LAST MINUTE STIFFS WINNER
In what appears to be a thrilling contest, Trowbridge based the Stiffs FC took all 3 points away at South Newton & Barford Hornets thanks to a last minute winner from Jacob Davies.
Stiffs trailed to Matt Keel opener for the Hornets, but they managed to turn things around to take a 2-1 lead, Sam McQueen restoring parity before Charlie Mowat put them ahead.
South Newton & Barford Hornets picked themselves up from the disappointment of falling behind and got back on level terms before the interval, Robbie Harrison scoring to make it 2-2.
Steve Lewin regained the lead for The Stiffs and they looked all set to celebrate a double over the team they beat 10-0 on the opening day of the season, that was before a late equaliser from Robbie Harrison looked to have earned a share of the spoils for the Hornets.
With time running out and with almost the last kick of the match Hornets were stung by a late Stiffs winner that came via 7th goal of the season for Jacob Davies
