Dilton Marsh Wanderers FC 6 South Newton & Barford Hornets FC 1
DILTON CONTINUE TO BUILD ON FRESH START
Having almost called it day back in December, Dilton Marsh Wanderers FC look as if they have put those dark days behind them. A 6-1 victory at home to South Newton & Barford Hornets was their fifth on the bounce in all competitions.
Dilton who defeated their opponents 10-0 when they met in the A&B Cup earlier this year, may have chalked up another victory over the visitors who had actually beat them 2-1 in the reverse league outings and after falling being to a Robbie Harrison goal, Dilton may have feared the worse.
If they did they didn’t show any concerns as from being 1-0 down, goals from Dale Rowland, Henry Carter and Aaron Knowles gave them a 3-1 interval lead.
A second of the afternoon from Henry Carter extended the lead further, a Kirk Chalke own goal made it 5-0 and a first goal of the season for Mike Payne completed the scoring and wrapped up another success for Steve Wyatt’s side.
