GIBBENS STARS FOR VISITORS TO MELKSHAM 

Melksham Town Development FC who opened their Spring Cup campaign with a 3-0 victory over Bradford Town Reserves last weekend suffered a 3-2 defeat at home to Heytesbury & Codford in their second outing.   

Despite staging a late fightback, Melksham were undone by a Liam Gibbens hat trick, his first two coming prior to half time and his third from the penalty spot that saw Heytesbury and Codford take a 3-0 lead before Melksham gave themselves hope of getting something from the game.

In a frantic final 10 minutes, Harry James fired home for Melksham on 81 minutes and a couple of minutes later Charlie Cooke netted to make things interesting.  Melksham threw what they had at the visitors but couldn’t conjure up an equaliser.
