BROMHAM PROGRESS IN A&B CUP
Bromham FC who have had a torrid time in the Gooding Accounts Ltd sponsored-Trowbridge & District Football League, First Division, this season were grateful for the respite from league action when they welcomed Second division Bishops Cannings Reserves to their Jubilee Field ground for their A&B Cup clash.
With the frost still hanging around, the conditions may have been deep and crisp, but the score line was anything but even as the hosts progressed to the quarter-finals of the PAH Accounting sponsored A&B Cup thanks to a 6-0 triumph.
Josh Draper, Francios Allen on his debut, netted from the penalty spot to make it 2-0 and an own goal gave Bromham a 3-0 interval lead.
After the break, Bromham scored 3 more unanswered goals, Luke Woodley making it 4-0 with Caleb Englefield adding another two to completing the scoring.
Calne Eagles FC 1 Melksham Town Development FC 4
NO UPSET AT BEVERSBROOK
First division, Melksham Town Development avoided a possible banana skin away at Second division Calne Eagles who gave it their best shot but exited the PAH Accounting sponsored A&B Cup competition following a 4-1 defeat.
Melksham opened the scoring through Liam Brooks, an Ollie Farrell free kick made it 2-0 and Josh Flynn added a third prior to half time.
The second half saw Harry James add a fourth when he scored from the penalty spot.
Ewan McConnachie pulled a goal back for Calne before Melksham’s, Morgan Akerman had a penalty saved by Calne keeper Sam Peacock, but the miss counted for nothing as Mike Coll’s side already had the tie won.
Dilton Marsh Wanderers FC 10 South Newton & Barford Hornets FC 0
DILTON DELIVER KNOCK OUT BLOW TO HORNETS
The All second division PAH Accounting sponsored A&B Cup, clash between Dilton Marsh Wanderers and South Newton & Barford Hornets saw the later finish the contest with 7 players after they had a man sent off which led to another 3 leaving the field with injuries and had it not been for the efforts of the Hornets captain and remaining players to see the game out the tie may well of ended up being abandoned.
In all the chaos, Dilton stayed calm on their way to chalking up a 10-0 win.
Ben Carver, Dale Rowland from the penalty spot and Lee Handiford were on target for Dilton in the first half.
Lee Handiford made it 4-0, Ben Carver added a second and Dom Mortimer joined in with a brace. Dan Bryce made it 8-0 before Ben Carver completed his hat trick and Dale Rowland completed the scoring with his second of the afternoon.
