MAGUIRE FILLS HIS BOOTS IN FRESHFORD WIN

Gooding Accounts Ltd sponsored-Trowbridge & District Football League, Second Division, leaders Freshford United have opened up a 13 point gap on second placed Holt FC thanks to a thumping 11-1 triumph away at Bishops Cannings Reserves.

Mark Maguire’s 5 timer took his season’s tally to 20, his first 3 goals coming in the opening 20 minutes.

Ethan Howard scored from the penalty spot to give Cannings their consolation before the floodgates opened, Dan Sanford, Ryan Muirhead and Reece Mortimer added to Maguire’s treble to give the leaders a 6-1 interval lead.

After the break, Maguire added another two, Jack Turner, a second for Mortimer and a Jake Hale goal completed the scoring.
