COLLEGIANS COME FROM BEHIND TO BEAT HIGHRIDGE
Gooding Accounts Ltd sponsored-Trowbridge & District Football League, First Division side Frome Collegians Reserves had something of a roller-coaster ride in their Somerset Junior cup clash with Bristol & District, Division One side Highridge United Reserves.
Frome had the lead, then lost it, before reclaiming it when it mattered to go on and claim a nail biting 4-3 win.
Tom Brown saw his opener cancelled out as Highridge drew level before half time.
Harvey Lear regained the lead for Collegians before two goals for the visitors to Frome put them 3-2 ahead. Frome rallied and got back on level terms through Harry Starr.
With the threat of penalties looming, Harry Lear popped up with his second of the afternoon, which proved to be the difference between the sides as Collegians held on to claim a 4-3 triumph.

Trowbridge League, Second division side, Freshford United booked their place in the next round of the Somerset Intermediate cup competition. Chris Birleson’s side didn’t even have to dodge the showers as they were awarded their Second Round tie against Yeovil & District League outfit Manor Athletic Reserves who were unable to raise a team for their trip to Browns Park.
