MAGPIES STRICK GOLD IN LATEST WIN
Neil Taylor’s first division outfit Semington Magpies who currently sit second in Division Two, and are into the last 16 of the A&B Cup and the Wiltshire Junior Cup continued the great season with a 6-0 victory over first division stable mates Dilton Marsh Wanderers that booked them a place in the quarter-finals of the Chantry Digital sponsored Knockout Cup.
Dilton Marsh lost 3 players to bad injuries, one of those being keeper Sam Tucker who had to be replaced by outfield player Carl Ledbury, although this was a massive handicap for Steve Wyatt’s side who had drawn with Magpies 2-2 on the opening day of the campaign, they were still outplayed by a very good Magpies so had no excuses or complaints about the result.
Joe Whiteman and Tyler Dagger combined in the 25th minute to give Semington the lead, with the latter putting them 1-0 up. Harvey Frisby doubled the host advantage on 39 minutes, Harry Thorne providing the assist for Frisby’s third goal of the campaign and a 2-0 interval lead.
Tyler Dagger scorer of the opening goal, turned provider for Semington’s third which was scored by Spencer Frisby in the 52nd minute. Substitute, Ollie Seviour added number 4 on 70 minutes, Jiorden Burrell-Mendis setting him up for goal number 4 of the season.
A second goal of the afternoon for Tyler Dagger, which was all his own took it to 5-0, just 3 minutes later and to cap things of, Joe Whiteman with the help of Devon Newbury-Hinds made it 6-0 in the 89th minute to complete what was a fine win for the Magpies.
