HOLDERS BEGIN COUNTY CUP DEFENCE WITH NERVY WIN
Heytesbury & Codford, began their chase for Wiltshire Junior Cup glory with what on paper looked to be a tricky home encounter with fellow league side Calne Eagles.
Tom Bull’s visitors to Codford went into the game not having lost a match all season, but suffered a first defeat as the hosts ran out 4-2 winners.
Warren Moorland got Heytesbury & Codford underway with their opening goal, Liam Gibbens made it 2-0 and then stole the show with two further goals that saw him complete his hat trick that gave the hosts a 4-0 interval lead.
Calne Eagles rallied after the break and pulled a couple of goals back courtesy of a Adam Welch penalty and Cory Thorn effort, however despite their best efforts they were little more than consolations for the visitors.

WARMINSTER EXIT CUP AFTER CANNINGS DEFEAT
Trowbridge League, First division side Warminster Town Reserves had to travel to Stanley Park, Chippenham for their Junior Cup meeting against Wiltshire League outfit Bishops Cannings FC who had been struggling for form in the league, but came up trumps in the cup as they claimed what many will see as a surprise 4-2 success.
Bishops Cannings took the lead via Charlie Swan on 8 minutes, a Szymon Raczek effort made it 2-0 in the 37th minute. Joshua Drury reduced the arrears for Warminster when he netted prior to half time.
After the break, Sam Brewer scored for Cannings to see them reclaim a 2 goal cushion just after the hour mark. Back came Warminster with Oscar Williamson scoring to give them hope of taking to game to penalties, any hopes of that was end when Raczek scored his second of the after to wrap up a 4-2 win for Cannings.
Devizes Town Reserves FC 4 Hilperton Greyhound FC 2
GREYHOUND LOSE OUT TO DEVIZES RESERVES
With their Nursteed Road ground unavailable, Wiltshire League First division side Devizes Town Reserves switched their Junior Cup tie to Whaddon Lane, home of opponents Hilperton Greyhound.
Devizes who are currently third in their respective division were made to fight by Hilperton Greyhound, who despite twice coming from behind were unable to keep their guests at bay.
Devizes took the lead on 21 minutes, but were pegged back when Gavin Francis made it 1 apiece. Devizes regained the lead on 38 minutes and held it until Josh Propert squared things up again in the 50th minute.
The hosts defence was breached again just 3 minutes after getting back on level terms, Devizes finally put the tie to bed with a fourth, 10 minutes from time.
Dilton Marsh Wanderers FC 1 Bratton FC 8
BRATTON TOO STRONG FOR DILTON
Dilton Marsh Wanderers were drawn at home to Bratton for their Wiltshire Junior Cup clash, before the match was switched to Bratton’s home, where the now Wiltshire League, First division outfit turned on the style to run out 8-1 winners.
Bratton netted four goals in each half to claim their win, Dilton’s consolation coming from Dale Rowland who goal was a stunner.
Laverstock & Ford FC 3 Bradford Town Reserves 1
BRADFORD UNDONE BY LAVERSTOCK & FORD
Ross Pugh took his high flying First Division side Bradford Town Reserves Hampshire Combination & Development League side Laverstock & Ford who stunned their guests, by progressing to the next round, courtesy of a 3-1 success
Bradford were 2-0 down at the break and then 3-0 down before Otis Young scored a consolation for the visitors.
Downton Reserves FC 10 South Newton & Barford Hornets FC 1
HORNETS HIT FOR 10 BY DOWNTON YOUNGSTERS
South Newton & Barford Hornets were drawn away at Hampshire Combination & Development League side Downton Reserves who despite falling behind, bounced back in style to claim a resounding 10-1 win.
Matthew Keel must have woken a sleeping giant when he gave the Hornets the lead as Downton fought back to lead 6-1 at the break, before adding a further 4 unanswered second half goals to progress to the second round.
Seend United FC 2 Melksham Town Development FC 1
YOUNG SEE’S GOAL RULED OUT, AS SEEND HANG ON FOR VICTORY
Seend United who reached the semi-final stage of last terms Wiltshire Junior Cup, before losing on penalties to beaten finalists D.I United were paired at home to fellow first division side Melksham Town Development who they had beaten 2-1in their league meeting four weeks ago.
Once again it was Seend who ran out victorious and for a second time it by a 2-1 winning margin.
Goals from, Joe Lamb and Mark Reynolds gave Seend a 2-0 half time lead.
Ben Masters on his debut for Melksham got his team back in the game and Mike Coll’s side thought they had scored an equaliser when Rio Young fired home from the edge of the area only for their celebrations to be cut short as the goal was ruled out for interference on Seend’s goalkeeper.
Staverton Rangers FC 2 Trowbridge Town Tigers FC 1
TIGERS FIGHT BACK TO DENY STAVERTON VICTORY
Another all Trowbridge & District League, County Cup encounter saw Second division rivals Staverton Rangers and Trowbridge Town Tigers meet at Bowerhill, Melksham.
Staverton who have yet to win any of their 9 league matches to date, must have their luck was about to change as they took a 2-0 lead before being hit by a Trowbridge Tigers comeback that saw them claim a 3-2 victory.
Billy Talman put Staverton ahead after 8 minutes and when Samuel Toyin-Adebanjo doubled the lead in the 13th minute everything seemed to be going their way.
Tigers got themselves back in the game before half time when Jay Brown halved the deficit on 38 minutes.
After the break, two goals in 3 minutes condemned Staverton, who finished the game with 10 players to another defeat. Youseef Qisori restored parity for the Tigers when he scored from the penalty spot to level things in the 52nd minute before Harry Trevor netted what proved to be the winner 2 minutes later.

D.I UNITED WITH WIN OVER THE STIFFS
Last season’s Wiltshire Junior Cup beaten finalists D.I United who hail from the Dorset League, progressed to the second round thanks to a 4-1 triumph away at Trowbridge League First division outfit The Stiffs who were unable to transfer their recent good form into the cup clash.
The Stiffs trailed 4-0 at the interval but scored the only goal of the second period thanks to an 87th minute consolation from Lewis Keay.

Following the withdrawal of The Lodge FC from the Trowbridge & District Football League, it meant that Holt FC who were their opponents in the Wiltshire Junior Cup were handed a walkover into the second round.
