COLLEGIANS CONQUER DEVIZES

After suffering defeats in their opening three match of the campaign after switching from the Mid Somerset League, Frome Collegians Reserves now with Karl Freeman in charge would have been thinking the move was a bad thing, however 3 victories on the bounce has seen them move up the table and into fourth place.

Back-to-back victories over Bromham FC got them back into their groove, but their 7-1 triumph over FC Devizes United has to be their best by a long way.  It would be fair to say that Devizes may have lost a number of players who guided them to the second division title last term, but nothing should be taken away from Collegians who appear to have got over their poor start.

Collegians had the game won in the first half, Ben Bullus opened the scoring, the lead was doubled by Harvey Lear before a second from Bullus made it 3-0, Tom Brown then rounded an excellent first half display off, with the hosts fourth of the afternoon.

Callum Keates netted for Devizes at the start of the second period, his goal was little more than a consolation, rather than a springboard for a visitors fightback.  Mike Pearson regained Collegians four-goal advantage, Ben Bullus completed a three timer to make it 6-1 before a second of the game for Tom Brown put the hosts in seventh heaven.

EVANS SALVAGES POINT FOR SEEND

Current, Gooding Accounts Ltd sponsored Trowbridge & District League First Division, leaders Seend United dropped two unexpected points at home to a Warminster Town Reserves side for whom their 1-1 draw was a third on the spin after recent stalemates against Melksham Town Development and Bradford Town Reserves.

Seend United found themselves trailing 1-0 at the interval to a Hayden Atkins goal, before they managed to salvage a share of the points, thanks to Jordan Evans, 70th minute equaliser.

BRADFORD BAG POINTS WITHOUT PLAYING

Bradford Town Reserves picked up 3 points from what should have been the visit of Bromham FC, however for Ross Pugh’s Bradford side who would have preferred to have won the points on the pitch, they were awarded them as Bromham were unable to raise a team, du to as many as 17 players being unavailable for one reason or another.
