CHASING PACK CLOSE ON LEADERS BRADFORD TOWN ‘A’
A first defeat in six matches for Gooding Accounts – sponsored Trowbridge League Division Two leaders Bradford Town ‘A’ FC saw their lead at the top of the table slashed to just 1 point from Park United FC. To make things worse for Bradford their loss away at FC Devizes United means that Evan Webster’s team are real promotion candidates.

Despite their resounding 6-0 triumph over leaders Bradford Town ‘A’, FC Devizes United remain in 4th spot, however with plenty of matches remaining it is likely that it will be them and Park United battling for top spot come May.
Oscar Webster gave FC Devizes the lead and his second of the evening gave them a 2-0 at the break.
A third from Webster saw him complete his hat trick, goals from Kian Fulford, Kamran Muhid and Tyler Smith completed the emphatic win.
The Stiffs FC 3 Park United FC 8
With leaders Bradford Town ‘A’ losing, Park United’s 8-3 victory away at The Stiffs saw them close the gap at the top to 1 point.
Credit must go to both Darrin Moss (Park) and George Hartrey from the Stiffs who at very short noticed switched the game from Stanley Park to St Mary’s Steeple Ashton after the former was deemed unplayable.
Park took the lead through Charlie Norman, but they were pegged back as Ben Fielding made it 1-apiece. Goals from Zac Hillier and Ben Pring saw Park surge 3-1 ahead only for Fielding to score a second and Tom Wilkes net to tie things up at 3-3 at half time.
Charlie Mowat had a stunning volley ruled out for the Stiffs, as the referee never saw it, ultimately it didn’t matter as after going toe-to-toe in the first half The Stiffs were out classed in the second half with Park hitting 5 unanswered goals.
Mel King regained the lead for Park, Adam Mitchell made it 5-3, Josh Hern added number 6, Darrin Moss made it 7-3 before a second of the evening from Norman who had started the scoring wrapped up the points for Park United.
Aces FC 1 The Lodge FC 5
After struggling to get the better of their hosts in the first 45 minutes The Lodge FC upped their game in the second half to claim a 5-1 success away at Aces FC.
In what was a very even first half, The Lodge went 1-0 up after 25 minutes with Matt Dyer’s first of three on the night giving them the lead which didn’t last long as a minute later, Liam Moffat from a free kick saw parity restored. Aces then undone all their hard work as they gave the ball away and Dyer’s second gave Lodge a 2-1 advantage at half time.
The second period was more one-side as Aces couldn’t get going and conceded 3 further goals without reply. Clint Hartley, Shaun Sheppard and a third from Dyer made it 5-1.
Dilton Marsh Wanderers FC 1 Freshford United FC 4
With Freshford United and Dilton Marsh Wanderers FC set to meet each other again this coming Saturday afternoon, the former will be looking to complete a quick-fire double by following up their 4-1 midweek success with another win.
Freshford who led 1-0 at the interval courtesy of a Dan Sandford penalty were pegged back in the second half thanks to a rare Dominic Mortimer effort.
Mortimer’s goal was little more than a consolation as a Dan Birleson double and Matt Bond’s effort sealed Dilton’s fate ahead of the rematch.
