DIVISION ONE ROUND UP – 8th APRIL 2023

POINTS SHARED AT WEYMOUTH STREET

WESTBURY UNITED RESERVES FC 2 WARMINSTER TOWN RESERVES FC 2

It would be fair to say that Westbury United Reserves have had somewhat of a bizarre season in Division One of the Gooding Accounts Ltd sponsored Trowbridge League, not having played a home match at their Meadow Lane base since a 2-1 loss to The Duke way back in early November, Bradley King-Taylor’s side would have expected to play hosts to Warminster Town Reserves on a sun drenched Saturday afternoon.

Less than 24 hours before kick-off Westbury learnt that their pitch hadn’t been marked out, but determined to get the game played King-Taylor and his opposite number Glen Humpheys agreed to switch the game to Warminster’s Weymouth Road ground where both teams shared the spoils following a 2-2 draw.

After a goalless first half Otis Young broke the deadlock for Westbury, but the lead lasted less than a minute as Seb Hounsell fired home the equaliser.

Warminster got their noses in front thanks to a second of the afternoon from Hounsell, but back came Westbury to claim a share of the points, Otis Young making it 2-apiece with an outstanding strike.
