FOURMIDDABLE HEYTESBURY REACH A&B CUP FINAL
THE STIFFS FC 1 HEYTESBURY FC 4
Having already clinched the Division One title and Wiltshire Junior Cup, Heytesbury FC who are already in the final of this season’s Knockout Cup Final arrived at St Marys, Steeple Ashton for an A&B Cup, semi-final showdown with The Stiffs FC.
Second division, The Stiffs who defeated First division, Trowbridge Town Reserves 3-2 to make the last four of the PAH Accounting sponsored competition were hoping to produce another David verses Goliath showing to set up a final meeting with Westbury United Reserves.
It wasn’t to be for the Stiffs who despite taking a 5th minute lead were unable to conjure up another magical performance and were beaten 4-1 by a Heytesbury side who are chasing a never before done quadruple.
After taking the early lead through Steve Lewin, Stiffs may have thought that it was going to be another red letter day, however that changed when Reece Collyer responded from the penalty spot to level things up. After that Myles Woodward and Sam McEntee scored before the interval and Harry Hamlin added another in the second period to wrap up the 4-1 success and a place in their third final of the season.
