PARK, WIN BIG TO CLOSE GAP ON BRADFORD

PARK UNITED FC 10 STAVERTON RANGERS FC 1

With two matches in hand on leaders Bradford Town ‘A’, a 10-1 triumph for Park United FC saw them close gap at the top to just 4 points.

Park fell behind to a Haken Blackmore goal, before Ben Selman restored parity for Park, Lewis McCarron put them 2-1 and a second from Selman gave them a 3-1 interval lead.

After the break the floodgates eventually opened, Zac Hillier added number 4 before Jamie Norman made it 5-1. Josh Salmon his name among the scorers with the sixth of the afternoon, a second from Hillier took it to 7-1, a 23rd goal of the season for Darrin Moss, Rhys Edwards and a hat trick goal from Zac Hillier completed the scoring for Park United.

DILTON MARSH WANDERERS FC 2 FC DEVIZES UNITED 4

With plenty of games in hand, FC Devizes United look like strong title contenders after a 4-2 win against Dilton Marsh Wanderers at Heytesbury Park.

Dilton Marsh Wanderers kept things tight for the opening 15 minutes but goals from Kian Fulford and Kamran Mudid put promotion chasers FC Devizes United in control.

Loui Stillman pulled one back for Dilton on his 100th appearance for the club but the comeback was short lived as Oscar Webster curled in a third for Devizes.

Then 5 minutes before the break Jamie Wallen smashed in the goal of the match as he pushed forward from defence and fired a long range rocket into the bottom corner for 4-1.

Mike Payne then hit the bar for Dilton and Dale Rowland saw two efforts well saved by Devizes keeper Aram Hussain.

In the second half Liam Lawes reduced the deficit to make it 4-2 and it could’ve been 4-3 but Jake Wheeler’s volley was cleared off the line by Grant Bridewell.

The result leaves Devizes 13 points behind the leaders but with 5 games in hand.

HILPERTON GREYHOUND FC 0 THE LODGE FC 4

When The Lodge FC hosted Hilperton Greyhound back in October they coasted to a 7-2 success, the reverse fixture also went the way of the Warminster based side, however the result was a lot closer with the visitors to Hilperton taking all 3 points thanks to a 4-0 win.

Two goals in each half led to the undoing of the hosts, Sam Clift and Wayne Melvin were on target in the first 45 minutes and Josh Gardner and Clinton Hartley scoring after the break to seal a 4-0 success that kept the winners in third place in the standings.

FRESHFORD UNITED FC 5 ACES FC 2

The last time Freshford United and Aces FC met the teams shared seven goals that saw the former edge a thrilling contest 4-3, the reverse fixture also saw seven goals scored, however on this occasion Freshford claimed a more comfortable 5-2 success.

In what was a very even game for most of the match with both defences dominating, Freshford went 2-0 up but Aces pulled one back just before half time as Alfie Little headed home.

In the second half which Aces probably shaded, they made it 2-2 when Little scored his second of the afternoon when he rifled home direct from a free kick.

A draw then looked most likely but Aces conceded against the run of play with 7 mins to go and were then caught twice on the break to give a very flattering score-line to Freshford.

Dan Birleson and Nathan Bye both scored 2-each for the winners with Ryan Muirhead scoring number 5, which was his first ever league goal for the villagers.
