Division Two leaders Park United produced the shock of the day by beating defending league champions The Duke in a penalty shootout to progress into the quarter finals of The PAH Accounting sponsored A & B Cup.
Tom Thomson opened the scoring for The Duke before Charlie Norman equalised for Park United in an exciting end-to-end game that could have gone either way in the whole of the 120 minutes but neither side could find the vital breakthrough, so they had to be separated by the spot kick lottery.
It was Park United who emerged successful with composed penalties from Darrin Moss, Ben Pring, Jamie Norman and Lewis McCarron to take the Division Two leaders into the last eight of the competition.
Next weekend The Duke return to league action as they continue their bid to finish in the top three with a home game against struggling Bromham FC.
Park United will be watching other teams in the Division Two promotion race with interest as they have a weekend without a fixture.
FRESHFORD UNITED FC 2 DILTON MARSH WANDERERS FC 1
FRESHFORD INTO QUARTER FINALS

Freshford United came out 2 – 1 winners against Dilton Marsh Wanderers to progress into The PAH Accounting sponsored Quarter Finals after a close match.
Dilton created four clear openings before they lost Rich Wyatt to a nasty head injury.
Freshford took the lead through Ryan Muirhead after the restart to give them the advantage at the break.
Early in the second half Freshford doubled their advantage through Dan Birleson.
Lewis Wheeler gave Dilton Marsh Wanderers a lifeline with 15 minutes left on the clock when he pulled one back but couldn’t find the equaliser as the Freshford defence held firm for the win.
Next weekend both teams return to Division Two league action as Freshford travel to Bradford Town ‘A’ and Dilton Marsh Wanderers host Trowbridge Town Development.

HILPERTON GREYHOUND FC 0 HEYTESBURY FC 6
HEYTESBURY EASE INTO LAST FOUR

Heytesbury continued their seemingly unstoppable season with a 6 – 0 win over Hilperton Greyhound to ease into the last four of The PAH Accounting sponsored A & B Cup.
The Wiltshire Junior Cup finalists and Division One title favourites started the scoring after 10 minutes when Kieron Edwards headed home a Reece Collyer free kick.
6 minutes later Sam Wright doubled the lead when he tapped in a Kieran Green cross and 3 minutes later Wright scored his second of the afternoon after being assisted by a Sam Roberts header.
With all the goals being scored before the break Jake Wright scored a quick-fire hat-trick to put the game beyond Hilperton Greyhounds reach.
On 27 minutes Jake Wright grabbed his first and was assisted by Ben Howlett for his second 7 minutes later. 3 minutes before half-time Wright completed the scoring with his third of the day after an assist by Kieran Green.
Next weekend Heytesbury return to league action with an exciting looking match when they host challengers Seend United knowing that a win will hand them The Division One title.
Hilperton Greyhound return to Division Two action with a trip to Heytesbury Reserves.
MELKSHAM TOWN DEVELOPMENT FC 0 WESTBURY UNITED RESERVES FC 0

WESTBURY WIN 4 – 3 ON PENALTIES
WESTBURY EDGE INTO SEMI – FINALS

Westbury United Reserves joined Heytesbury in the semi-finals of The PAH Accounting sponsored A & B Cup but they needed a penalty shootout victory to get past a determined Melksham Town Development side.
After a goal less 90 minutes the game entered extra-time. Cameron Pearce opened the score for Melksham Town Development, and they held the advantage until five minutes before the end of the 120 minutes when Jack Booth equalised for Westbury United Reserves from a free kick to take the tie into the deciding shootout.
It was Westbury United Reserves who held their nerve and composed penalties from Toby Murden, Jack Booth, Finn Young and Jake Samuel proved enough to take them into the last four of the competition.
Next weekend both teams return to Division One league action as Westbury United Reserves host Trowbridge Town Reserves while Melksham Town Development travel to face Warminster Town Reserves.
