WESTBURY EDGE INTO QUARTER FINALS
In an exceptionally tight game it was Westbury United Reserves who edged into the quarter finals of The Chantry Digital Ltd sponsored Knockout Cup with a late victory over Division Two side Dilton Marsh Wanderers.
In a goal-less first half Westbury United Reserves should have taken the lead when they were awarded a penalty, but Jake Samuel fluffed his lines and couldn’t take advantage.
The game looked to be heading into extra time but with five minutes left on the clock a ball over the top was latched onto by Samuel Jordan and his effort was deflected home by a Dilton Marsh Wanderers defender, sending Westbury United Reserves into the last eight.
Next weekend Westbury United Reserves return to league action when they host Trowbridge Town Reserves.
Dilton Marsh Wanderers are also in league action when they hope to rekindle their promotion hopes when they travel to face FC Devizes United.
