SOMERSET JUNIOR CUP – 3rd ROUND
BARRINGTON FIRST FC 1 FRESHFORD UNITED FC 1 – Barrington win 5 – 4 on penalties
FRESHFORD JUST FALL SHORT ON PENALTIES

Freshford United suffered the pain of losing a penalty shootout to just fall short in their Somerset Junior Cup third round tie against Barrington First FC.
After their long journey, it was starting to look like a worthwhile trip for the Trowbridge and District team when they went ahead thanks to a Matt Bond effort.
Unfortunately for Freshford, Barrington pulled the goal back for the match to finish 1 – 1 after 90 minutes, taking the game into a penalty shootout.
Freshford started the penalties well going into a 2 – 0 lead thanks to composed strikes from Dan Sandford and Waleed Bakali, but it was Barrington who held their nerve the best coming back to win the shootout 5 – 4 to end Freshford United’s interest in this year competition.
Next weekend Freshford are in cup action again as they welcome Dilton Marsh Wanderers to their base for a second round match in The PAH Accounting sponsored A & B Cup.
