This weekend in The Trowbridge and District Football League, centre stage was taken by the second round of The Chantry Digital Ltd sponsored Knockout Cup. Six matches took place, the pick of which was Division One leaders Heytesbury hosting Seend United.

HEYTESBURY FC 5 SEEND UNITED 4
HEYTESBURY EDGE THRILLER

League leaders Heytesbury are in the hat for the quarter finals of The Chantry Digital Ltd sponsored Knockout Cup after a thrilling 5 – 4 win over title challengers Seend United.
Seend started off on the front foot and took an early two goal lead with strikes from Kieran Fereday and Rich Hudson in the first 13 minutes.
It wasn’t until the 20th minute that Heytesbury sprang into life when Liam Gibbons pulled one back for the home side.
A Jake Wright penalty brought the game level on 25 minutes and four minutes later Gibbons hit his second of the game to complete the Heytesbury comeback and take them into the break 3 – 2 ahead.
In the second half Seend came back fighting and a penalty converted by Samuel Dodds levelled the match once again with 20 minutes left on the clock.
In an end-to-end thrilling match Adam Welch struck on 77 minutes to put Heytesbury 4 – 3 in front but just 2 minutes later Ben Ryder equalised again for Seend to make it 4 – 4.
In a match that looked to be heading for extra time it was Myles Woodward who struck the decisive winner for Heytesbury with 9 minutes left to play.
Next weekend both teams will be representing The Trowbridge and District League when they play in the Third round of The Wiltshire Junior Cup. Heytesbury travel to face Cricklade Town while Seend United play host to Nationwide First.
THE DUKE FC 4 TROWBRIDGE TOWN RESERVES FC 0
THE DUKE EASE INTO QUARTERS

Three first half goals and one just before the end were enough to send The Duke into the quarter finals of The Chantry Digital Ltd sponsored Knockout Cup, ending their unwanted two game losing streak.
Two goals form Jack Hayward and one each from Tom Blackman and Joe Moloney proved enough to send The Duke into the next round.
Next weekend The Duke are in County Cup action and host Minety FC in The Wiltshire Junior Cup.
Trowbridge Town are back in league action and will be looking to bounce back with a trip to Bromham FC.
SHREWTON UNITED DEVELOPMENT FC 8 THE STIFFS FC 1
IN-FORM SHREWTON CRUISE INTO QUARTER FINALS

In-form Shrewton United Development made it five wins in a row in all competitions and cruised into the quarter finals of The Chantry Digital Ltd sponsored Knockout Cup with an 8 – 1 hammering of The Stiffs.
Two goals each from Tyler Hull and Lewis Woodhead led the way for Shrewton.
A goal apiece from Aiden Compton, Conor Cutler, Matt Wood and an own goal completed the scoring for the home team.
Ben Fielding was on target with a late consolation for The Stiffs.
Next weekend Shrewton United Development will be hoping to continue their excellent form when they host Westbury United Reserves in The Gooding Accounts Ltd sponsored Division One.
The Stiffs are in Division Two league action and will be hoping to return to winning ways when they welcome Aces FC to St Marys.
BROMHAM FC 8 ACES FC 1
BROMHAM HOLD ALL THE ACES

Bromham FC left their disappointing league form behind and stormed into the quarter finals of The Chantry Digital Ltd sponsored Knockout Cup with an 8 – 1 hammering of Division Two side Aces FC.
Harry Ringwald was the Bromham star, leading the way with an astonishing five goals. Jack Angell, Todd Buckley and Sam Paget scored one apiece to make up the Bromham eight.
Lewis Baldwin was on the scoresheet for Aces FC.
Next weekend Bromham will be hoping to carry their cup form into the league when they host Trowbridge Town Reserves.
Aces are also back in league form, and they pay a visit to The Stiffs in Division Two.
PARK UNITED FC 9 STAVERTON RANGERS FC 2
PARK ON CLOUD NINE

Park United carried their league form into The Chantry Digital Ltd sponsored Knockout Cup and eased into the last eight of the competition with a comprehensive 9 – 2 win over Staverton Rangers.
Darrin Moss led the way for Park, helping himself to a hat-trick.
Jake Angell and Ben Selman also weighed in with two goals each.
A strike apiece from Dan Walker and Adam Richards made up the nine for Park United.
A double from Haken Blackmore with assists from Adam Meakin and Youssef Qisori made up the two goals for Staverton Rangers.
Next weekend Park United continue their bid for promotion from The Gooding Accounts Ltd sponsored Division Two with a visit to Dilton Marsh Wanderers.
Staverton Rangers are also on the road with a trip to Freshford United.
FC DEVIZES UNITED 2 FRESHFORD UNITED FC 1
DEVIZES COME FROM BEHIND TO REACH QUARTERS

FC Devizes United will be in the hat for The Chantry Digital Ltd sponsored Knockout Cup quarter finals but had to come from behind to defeat fellow division two side Freshford United 2 – 1.
After a goalless first half it was Ben Simmonds who put Freshford United into the lead.
FC Devizes United are currently in excellent form having won their previous eight matches in all competitions and continued their winning habit with two strikes from Jordan Anning to increase that run to nine to ensure it was them who reached last eight of the competition.
It’s the cup again next weekend for FC Devizes United as they travel to face Sherston Town FC in the third round of The Wiltshire Junior Cup.
Freshford United are back in league action as they host Staverton Rangers.
