DILTON MARSH WANDERERS FC 3 BRADFORD TOWN ‘A’ FC 2
KNOWLES LATE WINNER SEND WANDERERS THROUGH

In an exciting all Division Two clash, it was Dilton Marsh Wanderers who came out on top with a 3 – 2 win over league leaders Bradford Town ‘A’ in this first round A & B Cup clash.
In a goal-less first half it was Bradford Town ‘A’ who had the better chances with Kieran Turner starring in goal for Wanderers, pulling off a string of fine saves.
Bradford did take the lead through Arthur Dolan after the break, but Diltons subs came off the bench and turned the tide in their favour.
Callum Crabb equalised with a sensational free kick then shorty after gave the hosts the lead when he fired home from a difficult angle.
Bradford thought they had forced the game into extra time when Luke Willmott equalised with just 5 minutes remaining, but Aaron Knowles popped up just before the end to strike the winner for Dilton Marsh Wanderers and send them into the next round.
Next weekend Bradford Town ‘A’ return to league action with a home match against in form FC Devizes United.
Dilton Marsh Wanderers will be looking to continue their excellent form with a home match against Staverton Rangers.
HILPERTON GREYHOUND FC 3 BISHOPS CANNINGS FC 2
GREYHOUND WIN IN EXTRA TIME

After knocking Bishops Cannings out of The Wiltshire Junior Cup a few weeks ago, Hilperton Greyhound repeated the trick this weekend by knocking Cannings out of The A & B Cup in an exciting 3 – 2 win in extra time.
It was Bishops Cannings who took an early lead on 4 minutes when Anthony Freebody fired them ahead.
Freebody turned hero to villain on the quarter hour mark as he saw red, and Bishops Cannings were reduced to ten men.
Just a minute later, Hilperton Greyhound equalised through Spencer Frisby to complete the scoring in the first half.
It wasn’t until the 70th minute that the ten men buckled and Frisby scored his second of the afternoon to give what Greyhound must have believed was an unassailable advantage.
Bishops refused to give up and Szymon Raczek equalised with five minutes remaining and they must have thought they were going to go through when they were awarded a penalty with just 3 minutes left on the clock.
Unfortunately for Cannings, Aaron Chivers couldn’t convert, and Greyhound’s keeper Gavin Francis stood firm, pulling off a fantastic save to send the match into extra time.
It was Spencer Frisby who proved the difference in the added time, scoring his third of the afternoon to complete a brilliant hat-trick to send Hilperton Greyhound into round two.
Next weekend both teams return to league action and both teams are on the road as Bishops Cannings face Freshford United and Hilperton Greyhound travel to Aces FC.

ACES THROUGH IN HIGH SCORING TIE

In another all Division Two clash, it was Aces FC who came out on top with an 8 – 4 win over Staverton Rangers in the first round of The A & B Cup.

Haken Blackmore helped himself to a brace for Staverton Rangers with Scott Wilson and Olli Gee also on the scoresheet for the visitors.
League action beckons again next weekend for both teams with Aces hosting Hilperton Greyhound and Staverton Rangers traveling to Dilton Marsh Wanderers.
