This weekend in The Gooding Accounts Ltd sponsored Trowbridge and District league saw Division One league leaders Heytesbury entertain Trowbridge Town Reserves and a top of the table clash in Division Two between Park United and The Lodge.

HEYTESBURY MAKE IT SEVEN FROM SEVEN

Heytesbury made it seven wins from seven games with a 6 – 2 win over Trowbridge Town Reserves to build a commanding lead at the top of The Gooding Accounts Ltd sponsored Division One.
The masters of the fast start, Heytesbury took the lead after 5 minutes when Reece Collyer opened the scoring when he lobbed the keeper from 30 yards out with a volley.
Trowbridge responded well and Heytesbury had keeper Connor North to thank two minutes later when he denied them an equaliser with a fingertip save.
Two goals in two minutes at the quarter hour mark from Sam McEntee, who turned his marker and fired into the corner from the edge of the box and a Liam Gibbons effort made it 3 – 0.
An own goal after 36 minutes to make it four took the game out of Trowbridge Town Reserves reach.
Chris Steele did pull one back for Trowbridge on 43 minutes, but Liam Gibbons rubbed salt in the wounds with Heytesbury’s fifth and his second of the afternoon just a minute later, with a solo goal after beating two men to give the league leaders a 5 – 1 lead at the break.
Trowbridge Town Reserves started the second half well and Chris Steele scored his second of the afternoon to pull one back for the visitors 5 minutes after the restart.
With 19 minutes left on the clock Kieran Green headed home a Ben Howlett cross after some good work by Liam Henry to make it 6 – 2 to Heytesbury to make sure of all the points.
Next weekend Heytesbury will be looking to continue their excellent form when they welcome Shrewton United Development to their base.

MELKSHAM TOWN DEVELOPMENT FC 1 SEEND UNITED FC 3
DODDS AT THE DOUBLE WINS IT FOR SEEND

Two goals from Sam Dodds proved to be the difference for Seend United as they picked up their fourth win from five games with a 3 – 1 win over Melksham Town Development.
Sam Townsend scored the third for last season’s treble winners who now sit in third place in The Gooding Accounts Ltd sponsored Division One.
Rio Young was on the scoresheet for Melksham Town Development, who despite some improved performances are still searching for their first league win of the season.
Next weekend Melksham face a tough trip to defending champions The Duke and will be hoping for a similar performance to when they met back in August, when they came back from 2 – 0 down to claim a well-deserved point.
Seend are also on their travels with a trip to Westbury United Reserves and will be looking to complete a double over their opponents after beating them 2 – 1 at the end of August.
BROMHAM FC 0 SHREWTON UNITED DEVELOPMENT FC 4
SHREWTON EASE TO COMFORTABLE WIN

In a clash of two of last season’s promoted teams, it was Shrewton United Development who came out on top with a comfortable 4 – 0 win from their visit to Bromham.
Two goals from Sam Webb and one each from Lewis Woodhead and Ben Saunders were enough to give Shrewton their second league win of the season.
Next weekend Shrewton face a difficult trip to face runaway leaders Heytesbury in The Gooding Accounts Ltd sponsored Division One.
Bromham are in A & B Cup action with a trip to fellow Division One side Warminster Town Reserves.
