DIVISION ONE

BROMHAM FC 2 HEYTESBURY FC 9

HEYTESBURY ON CLOUD NINE

Heytesbury continued their perfect start to the season with a thumping 9 – 2 win over Bromham in The Gooding Accounts Ltd sponsored Division One.

Heytesbury couldn’t have wished for a better start when Sam Wright opened the scoring after just 30 seconds when he scored from a Kevin Shinn assist.

The league leaders didn’t let up and after 6 minutes Adam Welch double the lead assisted by Reece Collyer and in a devastating opening spell Collyer was on hand again to set up Myles Woodward for Heytesbury’s third when only 12 minutes of the game had passed.

In this mood Heytesbury look to be real contenders for this year’s title and on 20 minutes the excellent Collyer set up Sam Wright for his second of the afternoon and Heytesbury’s fourth.

A minute later Sam Wright was brought down in the box and Reece Collyer added his name to the scoresheet when he slotted home the resulting penalty to put Heytesbury 5 – 0 ahead at the break.

To their credit Bromham never gave up and got some reward six minutes after the restart when Caleb Englefield scored to pull one back for the hosts.

Heytesbury continued to push forward and two minutes later Callum Hotine converted a Myles Woodward corner for the visitors sixth goal of the afternoon.

With 13 minutes left to play Woodward was on hand again to set up Sam Wright who duly obliged to complete his hat-trick.

Callum Hotine scored the eighth Heytesbury goal and his second with 8 minutes left to play when he headed home a Collyer corner.

In the 90th minute Toby Beattie scored a late consolation for Bromham who continued to play right to the end, but Heytesbury were still not finished when Reece Collyer topped a superb afternoon with a strike from his own half after an assist by Harry Hamlin to complete the scoring and send an ominous warning to the rest of the league.

Next weekend Heytesbury face a real test of their title credentials when they travel to face current champions The Duke FC in a mouth-watering fixture while Bromham will be looking to bounce back when they entertain Melksham Town Development.

SEEND UNITED FC 3 WARMINSTER TOWN RESERVES FC 0

SEEND WIN TO KEEP PRESSURE UP

Seend United made it three wins from four games to keep the pressure on the leaders at the top of The Gooding Accounts Ltd sponsored Division One.

Goals from Matt Purdy, Paul Gittins and an own goal were enough to keep last season’s treble winners in the hunt at the top of the league.

Seend United’s league form will be put on pause next weekend as they start their Wiltshire Junior Cup campaign with a home tie against Porton Sports FC First.

Warminster Town Reserves will be hoping to return to winning ways with a home game against Shrewton United Development in a Division One match.
