BISHOPS CANNINGS 3 HEYTESBURY RESERVES 1

RACZEK ON THE DOUBLE FOR BISHOPS

A double strike from Szymon Raczek proved to be the difference when new teams Bishops Cannings and Heytesbury Reserves clashed at Green Lane, Devizes in this Division Two opener sponsored by Gooding Accounts Ltd.

It was Heytesbury Reserves who got off to the best start when Harry Hamlin gave them a first half lead just before the half hour mark.

This seemed to spur Cannings into life as three minutes later Aaron Chivers levelled for the home side and after another three minutes Raczek grabbed his first of the evening to edge Bishops Cannings ahead at the break.

After 76 minutes Raczek scored his second of the night and Cannings third to clinch an opening night victory for the home team.

Next week, Heytesbury Reserves are on the road again when they travel to face Bradford Town ‘A’. Bishops Cannings are also on the road to Warminster to face another new team The Lodge FC.
