The semi-finals of The A & B Cup – sponsored by AM Print & Copy Ltd took place this weekend with all four competing teams all having a great chance, and a guarantee of a Division Two side in the final.

HEYTESBURY INTO FINAL AFTER EXTRA TIME

Heytesbury will face Seend United in the A & B Cup final sponsored by AM Print & Copy after battling through an epic semi-final against Hilperton United.

In a tight first half Rys Fricker opened the scoring for Hilperton United five minutes before the break.

Heytesbury responded well and started the second half on the front foot, scoring twice in a minute.

Adi Vintileanu scored from a free kick after 54 minutes, then 30 seconds later Reece Collyer headed home a Myles Woodward cross to put Heytesbury 2 – 1 ahead.

Hilperton United refused to lie down and Rys Fricker scored his second after 65 minutes to level the tie again.

In the final 25 minutes of normal time the two teams couldn’t be separated so the game went into extra time.

Heytesbury took the lead again six minutes into the first half of extra time when Reece Collyer scored his second of the match when he slotted home a penalty after a handball in the box.

With Hilperton looking for another equaliser Heytesbury scored the fourth and decisive goal after 116 minutes when a Jake Wright pass put Myles Woodward clear to score the goal that sent Heytesbury into the final which will be played at Meadow Lane, Westbury on 26th April with a 7.45pm kick-off.

SEEND UNITED INTO FINAL

Seend United are into the final of The A & B Cup sponsored by AM Print & Copy Ltd after beating fellow division two side Potterne 3 – 0 in the semi-final.

After an even first half hour, Paul Gittens broke the deadlock to put Seend ahead.

Just before half-time Seend keeper Harry Waylen, still on a high from scoring midweek made a fantastic save to keep his side ahead at the break.

In the second half Seend took control and further strikes from Jack Booth and Matt Purdy sent the Division Two champions into the final.

The A & B Cup – sponsored by AM Print & Copy Ltd final will take place at Meadow Lane, Westbury on Tuesday 26th April with a 7.45pm kick-off.
