The Spring Cup – sponsored by Gooding Accounts Ltd continued this weekend with all four groups in the tournament beginning to take shape.
GROUP A
HILPERTON UNITED 2 MELKSHAM TOWN DEVELOPMENT 1
HILPERTON PERFECT SO FAR

Hilperton United kept up their perfect record in Group A of The Spring Cup – sponsored by Gooding Accounts Ltd but had to come from behind to beat a determined Melksham Town Development 2 – 1.
In a very close game Melksham Town Development led for much of the game thanks to a Joe Lamb goal.
A defensive howler allowed Luke Murden to equalise for Hilperton United before Jack Sterling grabbed the winner for the home side and end Melksham’s resistance.
POTTERNE FC 4 FRESHFORD UNITED 1
POTTERNE START SPRING CUP WITH A WIN

In-form Potterne FC started their Spring Cup – sponsored by Gooding Accounts Ltd challenge with a confident 4 – 1 win against Freshford United.
Andy Rossiter led the way for the Division Two promotion winners with a brace. Ash Huntley and Alex Surman added one each to make up the four.
Stuart Hershbein replied for Freshford United.
Hilperton United lead the way so far in Group A with three wins from three fixtures. Potterne lay second, with the three points won from this game with Melksham Town Development third with one win from two games.
Staverton Rangers and Freshford United are fourth and fifth respectively with no points from two games.
GROUP B
SHREWTON UNITED DEVELOPMENT 0 THE DUKE FC 1
FRIENDSHIP WINS IT FOR THE DUKE

In a quick return match Shrewton United Development played host to The Duke FC after holding them to a draw last weekend in Group B of The Spring Cup – sponsored by Gooding Accounts Ltd.
This weekend in another close encounter, Division One title favourites The Duke were pushed all the way and made to fight for a narrow 1 – 0 win.
Mathew Friendship was on target with the decisive strike that separated the teams.
MARSHFIELD FC 2 HEYTESBURY FC 6
HEYTESBURY WIN AGAIN IN GROUP B

Heytesbury FC made a flying start in their 6 – 2 win against Marshfield, scoring all their goals in the first half of this Group B encounter in The Spring Cup – sponsored by Gooding Accounts Ltd.
A brace each from Adam Welch and Myles Woodward with one each from Jake Wright and Reece Collyer made it two wins from two for Heytesbury so far.
Alex Fryer was on the scoresheet for Marshfield with their second being an own goal.
In Group B The Duke lead the way with seven points from three games, closely followed by Heytesbury with two wins from two.
Shrewton United Development sit third with one point from their two games with Marshfield fourth with one loss from one game.
Aces FC are bottom with no points from two fixtures.
GROUP C
THE STIFFS 0 WESTBURY UNITED RESERVES 6
EXCELLENT SECOND HALF WINS IT FOR WESTBURY

Westbury United Reserves staged an excellent second half display to run out 6 – 0 winners against The Stiffs in this Spring Cup – sponsored by Gooding Accounts Ltd Group C tie.
After being frustrated by the Division Two side in the first half, Division One side Westbury led 1 – 0 at the break but broke The Stiffs resistance in the second half scoring five more.
A brace each for Chris Steele and Tyler Gane led the way for Westbury United with a goal each from Josh Whitehead and Adam Kenich finally securing the points.
Westbury United Reserves top Group C with two wins out of two.
CALNE EAGLES 1 DILTON MARSH WANDERERS 2
DILTON MARSH START SPRING CUP WITH WIN

Dilton Marsh Wanderers started their Spring Cup – sponsored by Gooding Accounts Ltd campaign with a 2 – 1 win against neighbours Calne Eagles in their Group C match.
Brett Cullen opened the scoring for Calne Eagles, giving them a 1 – 0 lead at the break.
In the second half Dilton Marsh Wanderers came back into the tie to continue their recent good form and goals from Aaron Knowles and Callum Crabb saw them come from behind to claim all three points.
Wanderers sit second in Group C, behind Westbury with one win from one game.
The Stiffs are third with one win from two with Bromham Owls laying in fourth spot with no points from one game.
Calne Eagles are propping up the table looking for their first points after two fixtures so far.
GROUP D
WESTBURY UNITED ‘A’ 0 SEMINGTON MAGPIES 3
TWO FOR JOY FOR MAGPIES

Semington Magpies made it two wins out of two with this 3 – 0 victory over Westbury United ‘A’ in their Spring Cup – sponsored by Gooding Accounts Ltd match.
Goals from James Cox, Ant Lamb and Mike Little ensured Semington Magpies kept up their perfect start in Group D.
Westbury United ‘A’ battled hard throughout the match and were left rueing a missed first half penalty from Rob Jones.
WARMINSTER TOWN RESERVES 1 BRADFORD TOWN ‘A’ 3
BRADFORD TOWN ‘A’ WIN AGAIN IN SPRING CUP

Bradford Town ‘A’ made it two wins from two to keep pace with Semington Magpies at the top of Group D in The Spring Cup – sponsored by Gooding Accounts Ltd.
In their latest tie, much improved Division Two Bradford visited Division One side Warminster Town Reserves and came away with a credible 3 – 1 win.
Goals from Tyler Robinson, Harrison Simmons and Oliver Felsted gave Bradford Town ‘A’ the points.
Kyle Fice was on the scoresheet for Warminster Town Reserves.
Bradford Town ‘A’ are level at the top of Group D with Semington Magpies, both teams on 6 points ahead of Seend United who are third with one win from their one game so far.
Warminster Town Reserves sit fourth with two losses from two with Westbury United ‘A’ fifth looking for their first points from their three games to date.
