The quarter-final draw for this season’s Chantry Digital sponsored Knockout Cup competition has been made and has thrown up a couple of potential mouth watering ties.
The pick of the bunch will undoubtedly be clash between the winners of the delayed meeting of Division one heavyweights Westbury United Reserves and The Duke with the prize for the winners being a home tie against Hilperton United.
First division outfit The Stiffs will play hosts to Division one side Heytesbury who will be massive favourites to book their place in the last four, however as the home came close to causing a shock when they faced Warminster Town Reserves in the A&B Cup back in December they shouldn’t be underestimated.
Another tie that could produce a thrilling contest is the one at Brown’s Park where Freshford United who are the current cup holders, having beaten Heytesbury 1-0 back in April 2019 to lift the Cup entertain Potterne who will fancy their chances of booking a place in the semi-finals and on current form the visitors who ply their trade in Division two will be favourites to do that.
The final tie will see the winners of the outstanding Melksham Town Development Vs Dilton Marsh Wanderers encounter host Division one champions Seend United who are still in with a chance of claiming a League and Cup treble. Whoever Seend have to play they will probably have too much firepower especially as they have already handsomely beaten both opponents this season.
