THE SPRING CUP – SPONSORED BY GOODING ACCOUNTS LTD

The Spring Cup – sponsored by Gooding Accounts Ltd dominated the fixtures this weekend with games taking place in all four groups of the competition.

GROUP A

FRESHFORD UNITED 2 HILPERTON UNITED 5

WINNING START FOR HILPERTON

Hilperton United got their Spring Cup – sponsored by Gooding Accounts Ltd campaign off to a winning start with a 5 – 2 win from their visit to Freshford United.

Kierran Ramsey led the way for Hilperton with a brace with Liam Milburn adding another.

The goal of the game was scored by Jake Samuel who hit a wonderful left footed half-volley into the top corner.

Hilperton United’s fifth was an own goal.

Both of Freshford United’s goals were scored by Kieran Boyle.


STAVERTON RANGERS v MELKSHAM TOWN DEVELOPMENT – AWAY WIN

AWAY WIN

Melksham Town Development were awarded their Group A match against Staverton Rangers as unfortunately, Staverton Rangers were unable to raise a team this weekend.


GROUP B

THE DUKE 1 SHREWTON UNITED DEVELOPMENT 1

THE DUKE HELD IN SPRING CUP

Division Two side Shrewton United Development pulled off the result of the day, drawing 1 – 1 with Division One title favourites The Duke FC in their Group B match in The Spring Cup – sponsored by Gooding Accounts Ltd.

Brennan Knowles opened the scoring for Shrewton United Development to take the Division Two side into the break holding the advantage.

In the second half The Duke came back and grabbed the equaliser through Joe Moloney but will be disappointed they couldn’t get off to a winning start in this competition.


HEYTESBURY FC v ACES FC – HOME WIN

HOME WIN

Heytesbury FC were awarded their Group B match against Aces FC as unfortunately, Aces FC were unable to raise a team this weekend.


GROUP C

CALNE EAGLES 1 WESTBURY UNITED RESERVES 9

WESTBURY MAKE STORMING START TO SPRING CUP

After knocking Calne Eagles out of The A & B Cup 3 – 0 last weekend, this week Westbury United Reserves had a more comprehensive 9 – 1 victory against the same opponents in a Group C match in The Spring Cup – sponsored by Gooding Accounts Ltd.

Chris Steele had a magnificent afternoon with a five-goal haul with single efforts from Olly Seviour, Mathew Dew and Cam Dawes.

With Westbury United Reserves being short of numbers this weekend manager Steve Martin, at the ripe old age of 51 made an appearance for the last ten minutes and scored his teams fifth with a free kick from outside the box to complete a successful start to this seasons Spring Cup.

Calne Eagles goal was scored by Ewan McConnachie.


BROMHAM OWLS 0 THE STIFFS 2

OWLS FALL TO LEWIN DOUBLE

The Stiffs got their Spring Cup – sponsored by Gooding Accounts Ltd campaign off to a winning start with an excellent 2 – 0 win from their visit to Bromham Owls in their Group C clash.

Steve Lewin was the star of the day, helping himself to both goals against their Division Two rivals


GROUP D

SEMINGTON MAGPIES 3 WARMINSTER TOWN RESERVES 2

MAGPIES BACK TO WINNING WAYS

After losing their two previous games Semington Magpies started this year’s Spring Cup – sponsored by Gooding Accounts Ltd with a victory, beating Warminster Town Reserves 3 – 2 in their Group D match.

Alexander Shaftoe, James Cox and Kieron Fereday scored the goals that made sure the Magpies collected all the points.

Seb Hounsell was on the scoresheet for Warminster Town Reserves with an own goal for their second.


SEEND UNITED v WESTBURY UNITED ‘A’ – HOME WIN

HOME WIN

Seend United were awarded their Group D match against Westbury United ‘A’ as unfortunately Westbury United ‘A’ were unable to raise a team this weekend.
