SEEND UNITED 6 POTTERNE FC 2

SEEND UNITED TAKE ANOTHER STEP TO PROMOTION

Seend United took another huge step towards The Trowbridge Windows and Conservatories sponsored Division Two title with an emphatic 6 – 2 win against third placed Potterne FC.

Tom Rooney took centre stage this weekend, helping himself to four goals with Derek Wheeler and Matt Purdy making up the six to keep up Seend United’s perfect record at the top of the Division.

Andy Rossiter and Ash Huntley were on target for Potterne who will look to bounce back from this defeat next weekend.

BROMHAM OWLS 4 WESTBURY UNITED ‘A’ 2

OWLS TAKE ADVANTAGE OF POTTERNE DEFEAT

Bromham Owls took full advantage of Potterne losing at Seend United by seeing off a determined Westbury United ‘A’ team 4 – 2 and give them a little breathing space in the race to promotion from The Trowbridge Windows and Conservatories sponsored Division Two.

Goals from Tom Baguley, Will Baguley, Charlie Street and Ryan Collins keep the Owls placed second in the league but now five points clear of their rivals but still having played three games more.

Cameron Dawes scored both goals for Westbury United ‘A’ who sit bottom of the table but can take confidence from some improved performances in recent weeks.

THE STIFFS 2 CALNE EAGLES 1

THE STIFFS HOLD ON TO BEAT EAGLES

The Stiffs collected their fourth win of the season with a 2 – 1 win against Calne Eagles but had to hold off a determined fightback from Calne Eagles in the second half.

First half goals from Tom Wilkes and Stefan Brinzaru put The Stiffs 2 – 0 ahead at the break.

The second half was dominated by Calne Eagles but they couldn’t break down a stubborn Stiffs rear-guard until the final three minutes when a free-kick out wide was floated in by Joe Hughes and was headed home by George Dolman to reduce the deficit, but it was too little too late for Eagles and The Stiffs held on for the points. The result leaves The Stiffs and Calne Eagles sixth and fifth in the table respectively with 13 points with Eagles having a slightly better goal difference.
