DIVISION ONE ROUND UP 16th OCTOBER

DIVISION ONE ROUND UP FOR 16th OCTOBER

With the top three teams only having eight league games left after this weekend the title race in The Trowbridge Windows and Conservatories sponsored Division One is starting to warm up nicely.

MELKSHAM TOWN DEVELOPMENT 5 HEYTESBURY FC 2

MELKSHAM DENT HEYTESBURY TITLE HOPES

The result of the weekend must surely belong to Melksham Town Development who entertained title hopefuls Heytesbury FC and then dented their ambitions with a 5 – 2 win.

Aaron Masson led the way with an excellent hat-trick with Jack Woolsgrove and Senad Shimaj getting in on the act with a goal apiece to leave Melksham Town Development sitting nicely in mid-table in The Trowbridge Windows and Conservatories sponsored Division One.

Two penalties scored by Reece Collyer were not enough for a disappointing Heytesbury who dropped to third in the table seven points off the lead.

WARMINSTER TOWN RESERVES 1 HILPERTON UNITED 3

HILPERTON UNITED STILL IN THE RACE

After last weeks defeat to Heytesbury, Hilperton United bounced back this weekend with a 3 – 1 win at Warminster Town Reserves.

The victory takes advantage of Heytesbury defeat at Melksham and lifts Hilperton back up to second place in The Trowbridge Windows and Conservatories sponsored Division One.

Two goals from Luke Murden and a penalty from Jake Samuel provided the goals for Hilperton United who also had Alfie Francis to thank for a man-of-the-match performance in defence. Phil Curtis was on the scoresheet for Warminster Town Reserves.

STAVERTON RANGERS 0 WESTBURY UNITED RESERVES 5

WESTBURY HIT FIVE AGAINST RANGERS

Westbury United Reserves responded well after last weeks defeat against The Duke with a 5 – 0 win from their visit to Staverton Rangers.

Max Bishop, Tyler Gane, Todd Pearce, Louis Wilkins and Joe Wilkins were the players on target for Westbury United Reserves to give them a respectable six wins from their nine games so far this season.

FRESHFORD UNITED 1 MARSHFIELD 6

HALF DOZEN FOR MARSHFIELD

A 6- 1 win from their visit to Freshford United gave Marshfield their third league win of the season leaving their opponents at the foot of The Trowbridge Windows and Conservatories sponsored Division One, still looking for their first win.

Conor Laidlaw led the way for Marshfield with a hat-trick.

A brace from Jack Sanderson and one from Matty Harvey completed the scoring. Ben Symons was on target for Freshford United.

THE DUKE V WARMINSTER UNITED HOME WIN

The Duke FC were awarded three points in their quest for The Trowbridge Windows and Conservatories Division One title as unfortunately, Warminster United couldn’t raise a team this weekend.
